MANILA, Philippines — Flood prevention and mitigation efforts nationwide would be taken up on Tuesday, May 14, at a meeting called by Speaker Martin Romualdez with various agency heads.

“We are seriously preparing for the La Niña phenomenon before it even affects our country,” Romualdez said, noting that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration has already warned the public of the heavy rainfall that La Niña was expected to bring.
