'Shabu' worth P1M, gun seized in Quezon

LUCENA CITY — Police arrested three “high-value” targets and a street drug pusher in separate buy-bust operations on Sunday, May 12 in Quezon province.

The operations resulted in the seizure of more than P1 million worth of “shabu” (crystal meth) and an illegal firearm, Colonel Ledon Monte, Quezon police chief, said in a report on Monday.

Anti-illegal drug operatives in Sariaya town arrested “Sharly” after she sold P3,000 worth of shabu to an undercover cop in a transaction at 11 p.m. in Barangay Sto. Cristo.

The operatives found her in alleged possession of two plastic sachets containing 130 grams of meth with an estimated Dangerous Drugs Board value of P884,000.

In neighboring Candelaria town, local policemen nabbed at 11:18 a.m. “Christopher,” 35, in Barangay Malabanban Sur.

Police caught the suspect with shabu worth P80,240 and an undocumented caliber .357 revolver with four bullets.

Earlier in another part of the same village, a team of operatives arrested at 7:46 a.m. “Rustie,” 24, and “Leonida,” 43.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects, three sachets of shabu worth P108,000 and a weighing scale.

The police are conducting further investigations to determine the source of the illegal drugs.

Sharly, Christopher, and Rustie have been tagged as “high-value individuals” in the local drug trade, while Leonida was an identified street-level drug pusher.

The suspects were detained and are facing complaints for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
