PDEA seizes P1.2M worth of shabu, ecstasy in Cavite

Police arrest two alleged members of a drug group and seize more than P172,000 worth of "shabu" (crystal meth) in Dasmariñas City in Cavite province

LUCENA CITY – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) arrested on Saturday, May 11, a suspected big-time pusher and seized more than P1.2 million worth of shabu (crystal meth) and ecstasy tablets in Bacoor City, Cavite.

In a report on Sunday, May 12, PDEA-Region 4A operatives conducted a buy-bust operation in an open parking lot of a shopping mall in Barangay (village) Habay 2 around 12:20 p.m.

The arrested suspect, identified as alias “Haron,” 29 and a resident of Angeles City, Pampanga, yielded 50 grams of shabu worth P345,000 and 503 pieces of blue tablets suspected to be ecstasy with an estimated value of more than P855,000.

The suspect is classified as a “high-value” target in the government campaign against illegal drugs.

The PDEA is investigating the source of the shabu.

The suspect was detained and will face a formal complaint for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
