RFM CEO hosts high school students for business world insight

MANILA, Philippines — Joey Concepcion, Chairman, President, and CEO of RFM Corporation, welcomed students from Raja Soliman Science High School and Rizal High School into the company’s boardroom on May 10, offering them an exclusive look at corporate leadership through the “The Boardroom Experience.”

This initiative, part of the Youthpreneur program created by the Go Negosyo founder, is designed to foster an entrepreneurial spirit among Filipino youth. The program, in collaboration with the Department of Education, aims to enhance skills, build mentorship relationships, and improve financial literacy. It has been active in various locations including Quezon City, Manila, Pasig, Bataan, Baguio City, and Mindoro since last year.

“This is an immersive learning experience for the students,” Concepcion said. “How many kids their age get to see the inside of an actual boardroom and interact with the CEO? This will help them prepare for when they have to present their business ideas to seasoned businessmen and give them the confidence to hold their own when the time comes.”

During the one-hour “Boardroom Experience,” students engaged in discussions on entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation. The program targets senior high school students from public schools enrolled in ABM, STEM, TVL, and HUMMS strands, aiming to provide them with real-world business insights directly from leaders in the field.

The students, accompanied by teachers Rizza Tamayo from Rizal High School and Rociel Dimaculangan from Raja Soliman Science High School, also heard from digital entrepreneurs Bella Concepcion and Stefanie Lois Garcia, who shared their experiences in the evolving landscape of digital business.

Concepcion encouraged his peers in the business community to join the initiative. “The Boardroom Experience” not only provides a unique educational opportunity but also helps students map out potential career paths in entrepreneurship, enriching their future prospects in the business world.
