MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. tells residents and farmers in Sultan Kudarat that he has not forgotten about them and their struggles.
He noted that the government is constantly monitoring their situation.
During the Bagong Pilipinas Serbisyo Fair (BPSF) in Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, on Friday, Marcos said the government will provide sufficient assistance so farmers can recover from the adverse effects of the dry season.
“Nandito po. Asahan po ninyo na ang inyong pamahalaan, ang pamahalaan ninyo mula sa local government official, mula sa ating mga legislator, sa Congress natin, mula sa Office of the President ay patuloy ang aming pagtingin at pag-monitor sa inyong kalagayan nang matiyak natin na wala namang mahihirapang masyado,” Marcos said in his speech before the crowd.
(We are here. You can expect your government — from the local government officials, from our legislators in Congress, and from the Office of the President —to continue to look out for your welfare so that we can ensure that nobody endures too much suffering.)
“At kung sino man ang nangangailangan ay nandito po kami na tutulong para sa inyo. Nandito po ang inyong pamahalaan. Hindi po namin kayo kinakalimutan,” he said.
(And whoever needs help, we are here to help. The government is here. We are not forgetting you.)
“Kaya po asahan po ninyo na kami po, hindi lang po ito minsanan po na pagbigay ng tulong. Patuloy po ito,” he told the audience.
(That’s why you can be assured that this is not a one-time assistance. It will continue.)
“Ito’y isang bahagi lamang ng malawakang programa upang tiyakin na ang mga nasalanta, ang mga naging biktima, ang mga nahihirapan dahil sa tagtuyot na dala ng El Niño ay patuloy na nasusuportahan,” he added.
(This is just part of a comprehensive program to ensure that the farmers affected or victimized by the dry spell brought by El Niño are getting support.)
