A 23-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan chairman in Toboso, Negros Occidental, was electrocuted on Wednesday morning, May 8.

BACOLOD CITY – A 23-year-old Sangguniang Kabataan chairman in Toboso, Negros Occidental, was electrocuted and died on Wednesday morning, May 8.

Renan Tapang of Barangay Bandila was changing a light bulb in his house when he was electrocuted.

He was declared dead at a Sagay City hospital.

Councilor Richard Jaojoco said Tapang had just taken a bath and was in a hurry to go to the Toboso municipal hall to submit the lineup of players of his barangay for the games set for the town fiesta.

The victim’s wife panicked and it took about 10 minutes to find someone to turn off the electricity, Jaojoco said./###
