MANILA, Philippines — Northern Luzon will see cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms on Thursday due to a frontal system, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.

The state weather bureau warned that flash floods or landslides may be experienced in the affected areas due to moderate to heavy rains.

(It’s possible to experience rains in parts of northern Luzon or some parts of northern Luzon, particularly in Batanes and Cagayan, due to the effects of a frontal system or the convergence of cold and warm air winds.)

On the other hand, the rest of the country will continue to have hot and humid weather brought on by easterlies.

Meanwhile, the cloud clusters spotted in the southern portion of the country still can form into a low-pressure area.

Torres said it has a chance of entering the Philippine area of responsibility in the coming days.

(It is still not affecting any part of our country, so we continue monitoring.)

Torres said no gale warning alert is raised in any parts of the archipelago’s seaboards.
