MANILA, Philippines — Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc. is eyeing criminal complaints against those spreading malicious information about the company.
“Nag-uusap na po kami ng Bell-Kenz and we’re preparing po criminal actions against those who are posting online malicious accusations against Bell-Kenz and the doctors,” said Atty. Dez Perlez, the legal counsel of Bell-Kenz Pharma Inc., during the Kapihan sa Manila Bay forum on Wednesday.
(We are already talking to Bell-Kenz and we’re preparing criminal actions against those who are posting malicious accusations online against Bell-Kenz and the doctors.)
“Napu-put po at risk pati ang safety po nila kasi diba may mga pinost na kotse tapos nakakareceive din po sila ng mga threats, so ‘yun po ang nagiging epekto ng issue sa mga doktor,” she added.
(They are also being put at risk, including their safety, because there have been posts about their cars and they’re also receiving threats. So that’s the effect of the issue on the doctors.)
The company is facing accusations that it is giving luxury gifts and substantial commissions to doctors who prescribe the company’s medicines.
Bell-Kenz Chairperson and Chief Executive Officer Luis Go already denied allegations hurled against them, stressing that it is a “law-abiding pharmaceutical entity” and “adhering” to all government regulations.
“Mr. chair, in recent days, our company has been found itself instead in a web of misinformation propagated through various media channels,” Go said during the hearing of the Senate committee on health last April 30.
“I stand before this august assembly to vehemently refute these baseless allegations and to reaffirm our unwavering commitment to integrity and compliance,” he added.
