PFP, Lakas-CMD alliance is ‘the most powerful political force’ – Romualdez

MANILA, Philippines — Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (CMD) President and House Speaker Martin Romualdez called their political party’s new alliance with the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) “the most powerful political force” in the country.

PFP — led by Romualdez’s cousin, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.— consists of a sizable number of local leaders in its party.

Lakad-CMD, on the other hand, comprises one-third of the members of the House of Representatives.

“The Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas (Alliance for a New Philippines) brings together the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas and the Lakas Christian Muslim Democrats, forming the most powerful political force in our country today,” said Romualdez in his speech at the Manila Polo Club in Makati City.

“Our strength is not only in our numbers but in our shared resolve to enact substantial and lasting change throughout the Philippines,” he noted.

Romualdez said the alliance’s mission is to enhance the lives of Filipinos, adding that their goals are aligned with programs of Marcos.’

“In the upcoming years, through the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas, you will witness a government that is more dynamic, more proactive, and more responsive to the needs of its people,” said the speaker.

“This alliance will demonstrate how collaboration and genuine partnership can translate into real, impactful change,” he added.
