MANILA, Philippine — Actress Maricel Soriano faced the Senate’s investigation Tuesday into the alleged leak of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) documents concerning her and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s purported involvement in illegal drugs.
Soriano showed up and took her oath before the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs as it resumed probing the leaked PDEA’s confidential papers, or the Authority to Operate and a Pre-Operation Report dated March 11, 2012.

During the last hearing on April 30, PDEA Director General Moro Virgilio Lazo categorically stated that the documents were fake.

However, Jonathan Morales, a former PDEA investigation agent, contradicted Lazo, maintaining the legitimacy of the leaked documents connecting Marcos and Soriano to illegal drugs. Morales signed the document.
On May 1, Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa believed the documents were not fabricated, calling Morales’ statement convincing and “very straightforward.”
