SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A series of mild earthquakes was recorded in this province early Monday, May 6, according to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs).
The first of the four temblors struck this coastal town at 2:29 a.m. with a magnitude of 3.5 and a depth of 53 kilometers.
At 3:08 a.m., a stronger 4.0-magnitude quake was traced to nearby Cabangan town and had a depth of 14 km.
Phivolcs said another 3.5-magnitude earthquake hit Cabagangan at 4:03 a.m.. Intensity II was felt in San Antonio, while intensity I was experienced in Cabangan.
It was followed by a 2.5-magnitude temblor at 5:09 a.m., also in Cabangan.
Phivolcs said no damage or aftershocks were expected. INQ
