MANILA, Philippines—Ahead of the senatorial elections, the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines appealed to voters Tuesday to withdraw their support for politicians who are in favor of the controversial Reproductive Health (RH) Bill, a report from Radyo Inquirer 990AM said.

CBCP president, Cebu Archbishop Jose Palma was quoted as saying that moral values instilled in people who are in favor for RH Bill can be considered “questionable” as it implies a trait of being an anti-life.

Palma further said that leaders who will win the election should observe the teachings of the church about faith and the sanctity of life.

Voters should exercise their right to vote by supporting worthy candidates, Palma said.
