MANILA CITY, Philippines – Model Deniece Cornejo and mixed martial arts fighter Simeon Palma Raz have already started undergoing procedures before being committed to separate Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) facilities.

Cornejo and Raz were present during the promulgation of the serious illegal detention case filed by actor-tv host Vhong Navarro.

The two, together with businessman Cedric Lee and Ferdinand Guerrero were found guilty and meted with a penalty of reclusion perpatua or up to 40 years imprisonment.

After the promulgation, both Cornejo and Raz were already taken into custody on Thursday, they are already considered inmates or persons deprived of liberty (PDL)

As a matter of procedure, newly committed PDLs are received at separate Reception and Diagnostic Center (RDC) for an initial interview and check-up.

The PDLs will be placed in a Quarantine Cell for five days with no visiting privileges, followed by a 55-day diagnostic procedure that includes medical, sociological, psychological, educational, and classification procedures.

Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) Chief Gregorio Catapang Jr. confirmed that Cornejo will be admitted to the Correctional Institution for Women in Mandaluyong City.

Regarding Raz, Catapang ordered New Bilibid Prison Supt. Chief Inspector Roger Boncales to determine where he will be committed since NBP is no longer accepting PDLs as part of its decongestion program.

Meanwhile, Catapang said the Bureau has yet to receive the commitment order for Lee.

Once turned over to BuCor, Lee will undergo the same procedure as Raz and Cornejo.

Of the four, only Guerrero remains at large.
