LUCENA CITY — A 14-year-old girl died on Wednesday, May 1, when a fire of still unknown origin gutted her house in Morong town in Rizal province.

In a report Thursday, May 2, the Police Regional Office (PRO 4A) identified the victim as “Amira,” a resident of Barangay San Juan.

The report said the blaze started at the house of the victim around 5 p.m.

Twenty minutes later, firemen recovered the body of the victim inside the burned house during the clearing operation.

Police did not provide information on the whereabouts of the other family members when the fire broke out.

The authorities were conducting further investigations.

Meanwhile, a fire also erupted in an oil mill in Barangay Domoit in this city at 4:25 a.m. Thursday.

Initial investigation report said the blaze started after the stock of dried coconut meat caught fire.

The blaze was put off by firefighters at 8:20 a.m.

No one was hurt in the incident. Property damage has yet to be determined by authorities, the report also said.
