MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said that the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) is not aiming to dominate the political arena, maintained that unity was still key.

Marcos, who is the chairman of the PFP,  swore in 33 new members into the political party at the Diamond Hotel in Manila.

“You cannot start too early for any elections, so we have begun,” said Marcos in his speech.

“Hindi naman sa sinasbai natin that we want to dominate the entire political scenery, what we need to do is not to dominate anything, but what we need to do is able to bring onto the fold the, all the different elements of society, all the different elements of the political structure so that we are all working together,” said Marcos in his speech to the PFP members.

(We are not saying  that we want to dominate the entire political scenery, what we need to do is not to dominate anything, but what we need to do is able to bring onto the fold the, all the different elements of society, all the different elements of the political structure so that we are all working together.)

The PFP has seen an influx of new members since Marcos won the presidency in 2022.

The President reiterated his “unity” tagline, which served as his battle cry during the 2022 national elections.

According to Marcos, people resonated with his message of unity. He believed that people no longer want to see political bickering.

“Ang ating ipinaglaban, ang ating ipinagsisigaw ay ang pagkakaisa. At maganda naman ‘yung ganoon ang ating naging mensahe. Mukhang maganda naman dahil tinanggap ng Pilipino ‘yan. Kaya’t napakaganda ng naging resulta sa ating mga kasama,” said Marcos.

(What we are fighting for and clamoring for is unity. And that is a good message. It looks good because Filipinos accepted it. That is why we have a good collaboration.)
