MANILA, Philippines — “Huwag nyo nang pag-isipan ‘yan (Don’t even think about it),” President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday said as warning to persons who will disrupt the upcoming elections in Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM).
Marcos lead the commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) in Maguindanao Del Norte.
“As your President, I reassure that you will have an honest, orderly and credible conduct of the electoral process,” he said.
“Let this also serve as a warning to those who may plan to threaten to derail this upcoming election. Huwag nyo nang isipin yan, dahil ang kakalabanin na ninyo ay ang pamahalaan (Do not even think about it, because you will be fighting the government.)
BARMM is scheduled to have its first ever parliamentary elections.

“Brave may be those who wage wars, but braver are those who seek peace and who win that peace,” said Marcos.
The BARMM is a product of years worth of peace talks between Moro separatists and the national government.
As one of the key stages of the CAB, the region will select its leaders in 2025.
