OLONGAPO CITY — The heat index in this city was forecast to reach the dangerous level for two consecutive days starting on Thursday (April 25), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
According to the state weather bureau, the heat index here would peak at 45 degrees Celsius on Thursday and Friday. It would be the hottest heat index experienced by residents in the city this year.
The heat index is considered dangerous when it ranges from 42°C to 51°C. It is the degree of discomfort felt due to the combined effects of temperature and air humidity, Pagasa said.

Amid the rising temperature, the level of water sources here has started to dwindle, forcing the local concessionaire, Subic Water, to ask residents to store water in anticipation of low supply in some parts. INQ
