MANILA, Philippines — A dangerous heat index gripped thirty nine areas across the country on Wednesday, with Sangley Point in Cavite peaking at 48ºC (degrees Celsius), according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).
