MANILA, Philippines — Some local and provincial governments have suspended in-person classes on Wednesday, April 24, amid “danger” level heat indexes.
According to the state weather bureau, high heat indexes exceeding 42 degrees Celsius may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke during continued exposure.
Below is a list of suspended face-to-face classes on Wednesday, April 24.
Metro Manila
- Manila ‘Danger’ level heat index – all levels (both public and private)
- Pasay City – all levels (both public and private)
Calabarzon
- General Trias City, Cavite – preschool to senior high school (both public and private)
- Noveleta, Cavite – all levels (public only)
- Cavite City – all levels (both public and private)
- Taysan, Batangas – all levels (both public and private)
Central Luzon
- Angeles City – all levels (public only)
- San Fernando, Pampanga – all levels until April 26 (both public and private)
Mimaropa
- Oriental Mindoro – face-to-face classes for preschool to senior high school (public and private)
Zamboanga Peninsula
- Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – all levels (both public and private)
- Dipolog, Zamboanga del Norte – elementary to senior high school (public only)
