LUCENA — A 15-year-old female motorcycle passenger died while the driver was injured Monday in a road crash in Naic town in Cavite province.
The Region 4A police said in a report Tuesday, April 23, said that “Castillo”, 17, was driving his motorcycle with Mikka Nimfa Panganiban as a back-rider in Barangay Bancaan at 9:55 p.m.
Suddenly, the driver lost control of the vehicle and consequently crashed into a metal gate on the roadside.
The two motorcycle riders suffered serious injuries and were taken to a local hospital, but Panganiban died on the way.
The police are conducting further investigation.
The police did not say if the victims were wearing crash helmets for protection as mandated under the Motorcycle Helmet Act of 2009.
