MANILA, Philippines — Several areas have suspended in-person classes on Tuesday, April 23, due to high heat index forecasts.

According to the state weather bureau, a dangerous heat index of from 42 degrees Celsius to 52 degrees Celsius may cause heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and even heat stroke during continued exposure.

Suspended face-to-face classes on Tuesday:

Metro Manila

Pasay City – all levels until April 24 (both public and private)

Quezon City – all levels (public only)

Calabarzon (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, Quezon)

General Trias City, Cavite – kinder to senior high school (both public and private)

Ilocos Region

Dagupan City, Pangasinan – (preschool to senior high school (public only)

Cagayan Valley

Alacala, Cagayan – prep to high school (both public and private)

Gattaran, Cagayan – all levels (both public and private)

Central Luzon

Angeles City – all levels (public only)

San Fernando, Pampanga – all levels (both public and private)

Bicol region

Milagros, Masbate – primary to secondary (both public and private)

Albay – all levels (both public and private)

Zamboanga Peninsula

Zamboanga City, Zamboanga del Sur – all levels (both public and private)
