Caloocan police release sketch of suspects in murder of mother, daughter

The composite sketches of the suspects in the murder of a mother and daughter in Caloocan City, released by the Caloocan police on Monday.

MANILA, Philippines—Authorities on Monday released the computerized facial composite of two suspects in the brutal killing of a mother and daughter in Caloocan City over the weekend.

Inspector Rodrigo Soriano, chief of Caloocan police’s investigation division, said the descriptions were supplied by two witnesses who claimed to have seen the suspects in separate instances.

He said one of the witnesses claimed to have seen a man outside the victim’s home along block 35, lot 4, Palmera Spring 2, Barangay 173, Caloocan City around 11:30 p.m., Saturday, some hours after Faith, 50, and Tessa Ferlyn, 15, were found dead.

“The suspect was apparently doing some surveillance,” he said.

Faith was found dead inside their house at around 8 a.m. Saturday with 50 stab wounds on her body, while her daughter had 30 stab wounds.

Meanwhile, another witness said he saw two men inside the vicinity of the victim’s house around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, a day after the crime was committed.

“The witnesses’ description on one of the suspects turned out to be somewhat similar to each other,” Soriano said.

He added that police were looking into several angles as motive behind the crime.

“Pwedeng robbery as per reported stolen items, pwedeng grudge [It could be robbery as there were stolen items reported, or grudge] based on the number of stab wounds of the victims,” he said, pointing out how a laptop, two cell phones, some jewelry, and cash were stolen.

A kitchen knife with blood stains was recovered from the crime scene, he said.
