PDEA nabs 29-year-old man carrying P6.8M worth of shabu in Pampanga

The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has warned the public to be wary of fake news, as it debunked false operational documents allegedly from the agency, circulating online.

MANILA, Philippines — A 29-year-old man caught carrying P6.8 million worth of suspected crystal meth or shabu was arrested on Thursday evening in Pampanga, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said.

PDEA identified the suspect as Salahudin Amatonding, who was collared by its operatives during a buy-bust operation in front of a hotel along Highway Gugu in Bacolor around 7:55 p.m.

Aside from the 1,000 grams of shabu, authorities also confiscated boodle money, a mobile phone, and a vehicle from the arrested individual.

The suspect is currently under police custody, while the confiscated illegal drugs were turned over to PDEA.

Amatonding will face complaints for violating Section 5 of Article 2 of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
