Police seize gun, P510,000 worth of shabu in Rizal, Batangas

LUCENA CITY – An illegal gun and shabu (crystal meth) worth P510,000 were seized from five suspected drug traffickers in separate sting operations on Wednesday in Rizal and Batangas provinces.

A team of anti-illegal drug operatives in San Mateo, Rizal arrested “Tabar” around 9:05 p.m. after he sold a pack of shabu to a police agent in a transaction in Barangay Maly, the Region 4A police said in a report on Thursday, April 18.

The suspect, classified as a “high-value individual” or “HVI” in the government war against illegal drugs, was found in alleged possession of seven plastic sachets containing shabu weighing a total of 35 grams worth P238,000.

In Taytay town also in Rizal, policemen chanced upon a group of men around 11:30 p.m. while engaged in a “coin-toss” illegal gambling game in Barangay Sta. Ana.

During the routine frisking, “Emil,” one of the five arrested gamblers, was found carrying an undocumented .9mm Taurus pistol loaded with five bullets and three sachets of meth weighing 15 grams and worth P102,000.

Police also found out that Emil was on the local drug watch list as an HVI.

Meanwhile, drug enforcers in Sto. Tomas City, Batangas nabbed “Lily,” “Isna,” and “Sanifah” in a buy-bust operation around 6:25 p.m. in Barangay Poblacion 3.

Authorities confiscated from the suspects six sachets containing shabu weighing 25 grams worth P170,000.

They were also classified as HVI.

Police also seized two mobile phones, which will be examined for records of drug transactions.

All suspects are under police custody and will face a formal complaint for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Emil will be slapped with another case for possession of an illegal firearm.
