Olongapo folk asked to store water due to power situation

OLONGAPO CITY — Citing the unstable power situation in Luzon, the local water concessionaire on Wednesday, April 17, asked residents in this city to stock up on water in anticipation of power outages.

In an advisory, Subic Water said that while the National Grid Corp. of the Philippines issued a yellow alert over Luzon, residents in some villages must stock water for at least one day due to the possible service interruptions.

A yellow alert is raised when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the NGCP’s contingency requirement.

According to Subic Water, its service interruption advisory is “in preparation for any outages or discolorations that may be experienced during the outage and upon restoration of supply.”

“Other areas, on the other hand, will be unaffected by any outages, provided there are no leaks or other disturbances in the water lines,” Subic Water said. INQ
