World Trade Fair Bazaar features recycled products

RECYCLED wallets made from juice packs, organic fruits and vegetables, small home decors, and wheatgrass products from Hungary are among the products displayed during yesterday’s World Trade Fair Bazaar at the Trade Fair Shop Cebu along Osmena Boulevard, Cebu City.

Mila Lastimoso, a trader from Alegria town in southern Cebu, said the bazaar was a good venue to introduce their products.

“We joined this bazaar because we believe that this is a good venue to promote our products.” Lastimoso told Cebu Daily News.

Lastimoso of St. Peter’s Academy said that the products he displayed included sailboat, penholder and fruit tray of different shapes.

“Our products are made by our furniture shop workers and some are the projects of our male high school students. They are created from bamboo, wood and coconut,” Lastimoso said.

Another trader from Hungary, Lehel Rax said that he participated in WTFO’s trade bazaars for almost 20 years.

“For 20 years, my products have been selling a lot that ‘s why I keep on joining this event every year.” Rax said.

Rax, who claims to be a 100-year-old Hungarian, said he sold his wheatgrass products in Hungary and the Philippines.

“Every year, I always given time to come here in the Philippines not just to promote my products but, to help people to live a healthier life.” Rax said.

He said that he was one of the world’s first inventors of wheatgrass.

“My products are made from mango, coconut and other native fruit trees in the Philippines,” Rax said.

The one-day event also included free workshops on financial management, sustainable awareness on natural farming, savings, awareness and livelihood. /Correspondent Careen L. Malahay
