NU classes go online on April 15 due to transport strike
MANILA, Philippines — National University (NU) campuses have shifted to online classes on Monday, as Piston and Manibela launched a two-day transport strike.
In an advisory posted on Facebook Sunday, NU said its campus in Manila and Fairview and its basic education department — the NU Nazareth school — will be on remote synchronous learning for April 15.
However, the notice also said all campuses will remain open for official transactions on Monday.
Transport strike organizers said their halted operations will last until Tuesday, but NU’s advisory did not mention the conduct of its classes for April 16.
Meanwhile, the Polytechnic University of the Philippines administration ordered its campuses to shift to online classes from April 15 to 30 due to the transport strike and extreme heat.

On the other hand, due to continuous hot weather, some Metro Manila local government units implemented heat mitigation measures in schools, such as suspending afternoon classes or shortening class periods to ease the students’ ordeal due to sultry weather.
