After experiencing first-hand, Sen. Loren Legarda yesterday said she will invite other senators to also see the friendly whale sharks in Oslob, Cebu.
Oslob Mayor Ronald Guaren told Cebu Daily News that Legarda was able to see the whale sharks at 6 a.m. yesterday.
He said that Legarda “enjoyed” the experience.
Legarda attended last Saturday’s inauguration of the Oslob heritage museum in lieu of its celebration of the heritage week.
The whale sharks in Oslob has put the town in Cebu’s tourism map late last year. Whale sharks, who are supposed to be elusive to humans, are seen in Oslob interacting with local fishermen who regularly feed them with krill.
“I am excited to see the butandings… I have not been to Donsol but I have been to Sorsogon,” she said.
“I will go to Donsol and compare the Cebuano butanding and the Bicolano butanding and see who is more charming or more aggressive or more shy,” she quipped. /Carmel Louis Matus, Correspondent
