MANILA, Philippines — Heat index is predicted to reach 44 degrees Celsius in Dagupan City and 42 to 43 degrees Celsius in five other areas of the country on Friday, April 12, the state weather agency said.
According to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), the “danger category” temperatures will be experienced in the following places:
- Dagupan City, Pangasinan – 44 degrees Celsius
- Bacnotan, La Union – 43 degrees Celsius
- Puerto Princesa City, Palawan – 42 degrees Celsius
- Aborlan, Palawan – 42 degrees Celsius
- Catarman, Northern Samar – 42 degrees Celsius
- Cotabato City, Maguindanao – 42 degrees Celsius

The state weather agency said that the heat index is seen to reach up to 40 degrees Celsius at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City and Pagasa Science Garden in Quezon City this Friday.

Pagasa reminded the public that a dangerous heat index may cause some health conditions, such as heat cramps, heat exhaustion, and heat stroke.
It urged the public to avoid the heat, such as drinking plenty of water, wearing heat-protective clothing, and limiting outdoor time.
