MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Education (DepEd) on Thursday said more than 5,800 out of 47,000 schools across the country have implemented alternative delivery modes (ADM) in their classes.
In recent days, one of the reasons why the schools have shifted to ADMs was to combat the intense heat felt in many areas of the country since the first week of April.

Most schools that used ADMs were in Region 3 or Central Luzon.
The schools number to 1,124.
Meanwhile, no schools in Region 13 or the Caraga region suspended classes.
ADM includes asynchronous and online classes that allow students to join their class from home.

The DepEd also told school heads that they can implement suspensions at their own discretion when the situation calls for the measure.
