MANILA, Philippines — The state weather bureau said that eight areas in the country may experience a very high heat index on Wednesday.

According to the heat index forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) on Tuesday, the eight areas will have heat indices in the “danger” level.

The following were the identified areas:

Pagasa said that the areas above were likely to experience temperatures 42 to 43 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the danger level in heat indices includes the temperatures from 42 to 51 degrees Celsius.

In this temperature, health conditions such as heat cramps and heat exhaustion may occur, while at the worst-case situation, heat stroke may ensue.

Pagasa likewise advised people to take necessary precautions such as limiting time spent outdoors, and drinking plenty of water to avoid the adverse effects of high heat.
