Pagasa: Fair weather in most of PH; cloudy skies in Batanes

Pagasa predicts fair weather in most parts of PH; cloudy skies for Batanes

MANILA, Philippines — Easterly winds will bring fair weather to many parts of the country, while the province of Batanes will have cloudy to rainy weather, the state weather bureau said on Wednesday.

According to the forecast of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa), this condition is due to a frontal system where warm and cold air converges.

“Dito sa may bahagi ng Batanes, posibleng medyo maulap ang kalangitan na may kalat-kalat na pag-ulan at pagkulog dulot naman ng frontal system – ‘yung banggaan ng mainit at malamig na hangin na malapit sa may bahagi naman ng Japan,” Pagasa weather specialist Obet Badrina said.

(Here in Batanes, cloudy skies are possible with scattered rains and thunderstorms from a frontal system, which is the meeting of warm and cold air in Japan.)

Badrina added that no notable tropical cyclones are observed inside and outside the Philippine area of responsibility. The chance of a tropical cyclone forming by the end of the week is low.
