MANILA, Philippines — Two individuals were arrested on Monday for allegedly falsifying Persons with Disability (PWD) identification cards (IDs) for residents in Quezon City, according to police.
In a report on Tuesday, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) said suspects Deline Pacala Banaag, 27, and Jaywen Doctama Laurino, 24, were apprehended in an entrapment operation along Santo Nino de Bagong Silang, Phase 1, Barangay 176 Bagong Silang in Caloocan City.

QCPD said its operation stemmed from an unnamed complainant who agreed to cooperate with authorities and set up a meeting with the suspects in the area.
Police also received a report from the city’s Persons with Disability Affairs Office on the increasing number of confiscated PWD IDs from several residents.

Upon the suspects’ arrest, police confiscated five fake QCitizen ID cards for PWDs, two cellular phones, a purse, and a motorcycle.
The suspects are currently under QCPD custody and will face complaints for violating Article 172 or the Falsification by Private Individuals and Use of Falsified Documents in relation to Republic Act No. 10175 or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.
