The operation of these deep wells aims to ensure water supply to its customers and ease the strain on Angat Dam in the event that the National Water Resources Board reduces both concessionaires’ allocations by April 16 from 50 MLD to 48 MLD to maintain the dam’s working level during the dry months.

“We are working closely with the MWSS and NWRB to preserve Angat Dam’s working level. In addition, the company has been carrying out water supply augmentation programs, which include deep well maximization. These projects help ease our heavy dependency on Angat, which provides 90% of our water supply,” Manila Water’s Corporate Communications Affairs Group Director Jeric Sevilla said.
