VP Duterte net satisfaction rating rises slightly in December — SWS
MANILA, Philippines — The approval rating of Vice President Sara Duterte slightly rose in the fourth quarter of 2023, a recent Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey showed.
According to SWS, Duterte garnered a “very good” net satisfaction rating of +61, slightly higher than the +57 rating from September 2023.

SWS classifies net satisfaction ratings of at least +70 as “excellent;” +50 to +69 as “very “good;” +30 to +49 as “good;” +10 to +29 as “moderate;” +9 to -9 as “neutral;” -10 to -29 as “poor;” -30 to -49 as “bad;” -50 to -69 as “very bad;” and -70 and below as “execrable.”
The said rating was based on the 73 percent number of respondents who said they were “satisfied” with Duterte’s performance, and 12 percent “dissatisfied.”
The SWS said Duterte’s net satisfaction rating was highest in Mindanao at +83, which is considered “excellent.”

Meanwhile, Senate President Juan Miguel Zubiri garnered a “good” satisfaction rating of +44, the same rating he received in September 2023.
This reflected the 56 percent number of respondents who said they were “satisfied” and 12 percent “dissatisfied” with Zubiri’s performance.
For Speaker Martin Romualdez, he received a “moderate” net satisfaction rating of +28, lower than the “good” +31 rating he received in September 2023.
Forty-five percent of respondents said they were “satisfied” with Romualdez’s performance, while 17 percent said they were “dissatisfied.”
Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo, on the other hand, garnered a “good” net satisfaction rating of +32, slightly rising from his “moderate” +27 rating in September 2023.
Gesmundo’s rating is based on the 45 percent of respondents who were “satisfied” with his performance and 13 percent “dissatisfied.”
SWS said the survey was conducted from December 8 to 12, 2023, through face-to-face interviews of 1,200 adults — 300 each in Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao — with sampling error margins of ±2.8% for national percentages, and ±5.7% each for Metro Manila, Balance Luzon, the Visayas, and Mindanao.
