3 dead as bus collides with tricycle in Pangasinan

DAGUPAN CITY — Three people, including a graduating college student, died when the tricycle carrying them was bumped by a passenger bus early Thursday, April 4, along the national road in Binalonan town, Pangasinan.

Police identified the victims as Hanna Mae Basanes Mateo, 23, a student of Eastern Pangasinan University; Dennis Dasalla, 16; and Melchor Prado Hular, 66, who were all declared dead on arrival at the Urdaneta City District Hospital.

Two other passengers on the tricycle, both teens, were seriously injured.

The victims are all from Sta. Catalina village in Binalonan town.

Police said the passenger bus driven by Louie Lagoy Dugayon, 34, of Kalinga province, was traveling along the highway when it collided with the tricycle which was entering the highway from a barangay road.

Dugayon and the bus passengers were unharmed. INQ
