SORSOGON CITY — More than P13.8 million worth of illegal drugs were seized by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Sorsogon province from its seven operations in March.

Colonel Dionesio Laceda, Sorsogon police director, also said in his month-end accomplishment report issued Tuesday, April 2, that 12 drug suspects were arrested from their anti-drug operations last month.

A total of 2,029.86 grams of shabu (crystal meth) and 12.057 grams of marijuana, worth around P13.8 million, were confiscated during their month-long operations, Laceda said.

The latest operation was on Monday, April 1, in which some 50 grams of suspected shabu worth P340,000 were seized in Barangay Luna Candol in Gubat from a “high value target” who was also arrested.

Meanwhile, 12 most wanted persons and 58 other wanted persons were also arrested in the previous month.

The Sorsogon police also arrested three illegal gun holders in March. Eight loose firearms were also confiscated, while 15 were voluntarily surrendered to the police.

Some 20 former New People’s Army rebels were reported to have surrendered in the province in March, according to the report.
