Minor quakes shake 4 provinces—Phivolcs

MANILA, Philippines – Four minor quakes shook various parts of the country Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Siesmology said.

In its website, Phivolcs said that the first quake, which measured a magnitude 4.6 hit 228 kilometers southeast of General Santos City at 12:37 a.m. At 2:26 a.m., another quake, which measured 4.3 on the Richter scale hit Davao del Sur with epicenter at 84 kilometers south east of Sta. Cruz town.

Shortly after, at 2:30 a.m., a minor 3.6 magnitude tremor rocked the island province of Catanduanes with epicenter at 6 kilometers northeast of Viga town. Intensity 2 was felt in Viga, Catanduanes, Phivolcs said.

Another minor quake, this time at 4.2 magnitude hit Zambales at 6:01 am, Phivolcs said. The epicenter was recorded at 11 kilometers south east of Sta. Cruz town, Zambales while intensity 3 was felt in Infanta, Pangasinan.

No damages were reported and no aftershocks are expected from all four quakes, Phivolcs said.
