MANILA, Philippines — The three co-accused of Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KJC) leader and alleged sex offender Apollo Quiboloy were granted temporary freedom after a local court allowed them to post P80,000 bail each on Wednesday afternoon.
Police Regional Office 11 – Public Information Office chief Major Catherine Dela Rey said Cresente Canada, Paulene Canada, and Sylvia Camanes were assisted by their lawyers in processing their bail shortly after they surrendered before the National Bureau of Investigation’s (NBI) office in Davao.
“Nakabail po silang tatlo kaninang 5 p.m. (The three were able to post bail around 5 p.m.) ” Dela Rey told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview.
Prior to this, Dela Rey said the NBI, along with police and Criminal Investigation and Detection Group operatives, served the arrest warrant in Barangay Tamayong, which led to the surrender of the three co-accused.
Earlier Wednesday, reports revealed that the Davao RTC issued an arrest warrant against the three who surrendered, Quiboloy, Jackiely W. Roy and Ingrid C. Canada.
They were charged with violating Republic Act 7610 or the Anti-Child Abuse Law, specifically the provision on sexual abuse of minors and maltreatment.
