LEGAZPI CITY – Schools in Camalig town in Albay implemented a shifting of schedule of classes on Tuesday, April 2, to minimize the exposure of the students and teachers to the hot temperature amid the prevailing El Niño phenomenon.
Mayor Carlos Irwin Baldo Jr. said in an advisory that the schools may conduct classes in the morning from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. while the afternoon classes would be in modular learning set up.

The teachers would not be required to report to schools during afternoon sessions but advised to provide learning materials and instructions for the students to complete their tasks at home.
However, they may be directed by the school officials to report to school if needed, Baldo said.
During morning classes, the students would not be required to wear uniforms and advised to wear comfortable clothing.
Earlier, the local governments of Libon, Guinobatan and Polangui ordered suspension of in-person classes and shifting to modular or online mode.
