OLONGAPO CITY — A school in Olongapo city announced on Tuesday (April 2) that it will be implementing a blended mode of learning due to the excruciatingly hot weather.
According to Fr. Raymann Catindig, president of St. Joseph College, temporary half-day in-person classes will be implemented in the Basic Education Department starting Wednesday.
Catindig said they will defer all afternoon in-person classes and shift to the blended mode of learning.
However, faculty members are required to be physically present in the school while conducting the blended mode of learning.
The heat index in this city reached 39 degrees Celsius on Tuesday, and is expected to soar to 40 degrees Celsius on Wednesday.
The City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office advised residents to watch out for heat cramps and exhaustion, even stroke, with prolonged exposure to the sweltering heat.
