Alleged drug pusher busted in Laguna; gun, grenade seized

Police authorities have arrested one of Laguna's most wanted persons in the province following a manhunt operation over the weekend

LUCENA CITY – Police arrested a heavily armed suspected drug pusher in a buy-bust operation early Tuesday, April 2, in Biñan City, Laguna province.

A certain “Paul” was held around 2:40 a.m. by anti-illegal drugs operatives in Barangay Dela Paz, the Region 4A police said in a report.

Aside from four plastic sachets of shabu (crystal meth) worth P21,080 seized from the suspect, the operatives also found him carrying an undocumented caliber .9mm pistol loaded with five bullets and a hand grenade placed inside a shoulder bag.

The report said the suspect is a street-level pusher in the locality.

In another report, police also nabbed “Jeffrey” in a drug sting around 9 p.m. on Monday in Barangay San Francisco in Dasmariñas City, Cavite.

The suspect, also an identified street pusher, yielded three sachets of shabu worth P102,000.

The suspects were detained and are facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 for possessing and selling dangerous drugs. Paul will also be slapped with another case for illegal possession of a firearm and an explosive.
