SAN ANTONIO, Zambales — A man drowned while swimming in a river in nearby San Narciso town, police said on Monday, April 1.
Based on an initial investigation, Jayson Paragan, 36, a resident of San Narciso’s Barangay Patrocinio, went missing after swimming in the Sabangan River in neighboring Sitio Aldia, Barangay Natividad, on Black Saturday, March 30.

Authorities immediately searched the area and discovered the victim’s body on the other side of the river.
Paragan was declared dead on arrival at a hospital in San Marcelino town.
The next day, Easter Sunday, a four-year-old girl from Bulacan province was rescued from drowning at a beach in San Felipe town.
She was playing in the shallow area of the beach when she suddenly drifted into the deeper part of the water.
A beachgoer witnessed the situation and rescued the victim.
However, the victim was found unconscious, prompting a local coast guard to perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation, or CPR.
After she regained consciousness, the victim was taken to the Rural Health Unit in San Felipe for proper medication. INQ
