WARREN Vinan and Mirasol Abad clinched the male and female overall titles of the Mantalongon Off-Road Duathlon held yesterday at the Cebu’s summer capital in Mantalongon, Dalaguete southern Cebu.
Vinan conquered the 3-kilometer run, 12km bike and 6km run in one hour, 13 minutes and 15 seconds to be the first male to cross the finish line at the Mantalongon National High School.
Abad bested the rest of the female participants when she breasted the tape in 1:35:36.
Joseph Miller and John Philip Duenas finished second and third, respectively, in the men’s side.
In the distaff side, Rochelle Tan finished second while third place went to Merlita Arias-Dunkin.
Top 3 in the female open were Loveleinell Casidsid (2:11:58), Nerissa Abunda (2:32:04) and Aya Shlachter (2:42:19).
The male 19-and-below title went to John Ray Gonzaga, who clocked 1:24:40.
Jesam Baldumer topped the male 20-29 category after he crossed the finish line in 1:26:57. The male 30-39 category was won by Jay-R Salvador. Tyrone Tan snagged the male 40-49 title. /CORRESPONDENT MARS G. ALISON
