MANILA, Philippines — President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. on Maundy Thursday encouraged Filipinos to serve others with compassion and grace as Jesus Christ did.

In his Holy Week message, Marcos noted that it is time for reflection.

“As we reflect on the love and selflessness of Jesus Christ, may we also find ways to serve others with the same compassion and grace, spreading love and understanding in our communities,” said Marcos in a Facebook post.

“We pray for a safe and meaningful Holy Week for all,” he added.

On Palm Sunday, Marcos also encouraged Filipinos to think about the impact of Jesus.

“The message of salvation and eternal life remains as timely as ever. I urge all of us now to make this promise personal: Let it stir in each of us the desire to know Jesus Christ more, so that we may become better agents of change and conveyors of truth wherever we go,” said Marcos in his previous message.
