OLONGAPO CITY — Major bus terminals in Central Luzon were inspected by policemen on Wednesday in anticipation of the influx of travelers during the Holy Week break.

Brigadier General Jose Hidalgo Jr., Police Regional Office 3 director, led the inspection of the bus terminals as he assured the public that stringent security measures had been put in place in these areas for the safety of commuters.

“Police personnel are actively engaged in physical inspections across all terminals throughout the region,” Hidalgo said in a statement.

He said security measures would be extended even to the entrances of malls and churches.

“We prioritize the safety and peace of mind of our commuters, which is why these inspections are paramount,” Hidalgo said.

Last week, Hidalgo announced that they had deployed 1,000 police personnel to key areas in the region in time for Holy Week from March 25 to March 31.

“We have also solicited the support of our force multipliers and auxiliary forces to include our BPATs (Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams) and radio net groups to help us ensure public safety,” he said. INQ
