The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) summoned China’s Charge d’affaires in the country as Manila protests Beijing’s latest aggressive actions against the Philippines’ resupply mission in the West Philippine Sea.
DFA Spokesperson Teresita Daza told reporters that DFA Deputy Assistant Secretary Raphael Hermoso was the one who summoned Chinese embassy Charge d’affaires Zhou Zhiyong on Monday morning.

Apart from defense treaty alliances, Senator Francis Tolentino on Monday urged the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) to establish a research and development pact with maritime countries.
Tolentino, chairperson of the Senate special panel on maritime and admiralty zones, said the establishment of research and development alliances could help in “[mobilizing] international support,” especially after China’s cannon attack on a Philippine vessel en route for a resupply mission in the West Philippine Sea.

The widow of Negros Oriental governor Roel Degamo wants answers from the Anti-Money Laundering Council (AMLC) as to why the properties of Arnolfo Teves Jr., the alleged mastermind of her husband’s murder, remain operational.

Slaughtered dog Killua in Cam Sur tested positive for rabies, says PAWS
The slaughtered golden retriever in Camarines Sur tested positive for rabies, according to the Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
PAWS Director Anna Cabrera told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview on Monday that this was based on the test conducted by the Bureau of Animal Industry (BAI) over the weekend.
MIAA reports over 134,000 passengers at Naia on Palm Sunday
Over 134,000 air passengers flocked to the country’s main international gateway on March 24 (Palm Sunday) alone, the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) said on Monday.
According to the MIAA, they have logged some 134,660 travelers at the terminals of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (Naia), which is higher than last year’s figure of 116,545.
