3 hurt in shooting in Legazpi City

LEGAZPI CITY — Three men were injured in a shooting incident in this city on Friday night, March 22.

Brigadier General Andre Perez Dizon, Bicol police chief, identified the victims in a report Saturday, March 23, as Noel Maravilla, 54; Francis Alejo, 30; and Neleo Armenia, 50, all basketball referees.

Report said while the victims were having a drinking spree in front of Maravilla’s store, two unidentified suspects fired at them in Barangay (village) Homapon at around 10:30 p.m.

The suspects fled to the nearby villages while the victims were taken to a hospital for treatment.

Dizon said based on the initial investigation, the victims, who just attended a basketball game, were not the main target of the shooting.

The police were conducting an investigation to identify and arrest the suspects.
