DOLAN ADLAWAN continued to impress as he scored the game-winning layup that pushed the University of San Carlos North past the Cebu Eastern College Dragons, 63-61, and into the finals of the Coca-Cola PBA Youngstars Basketball Tournament 2012 Cebu Leg, in the semifinals last Thursday at the Aznar Coliseum.
Just days after making his mark against their sister team USC South, the 6-foot-2 Adlawan was at his best once again as he topped the team with 20 points. But none more important than the one he made with just seconds remaining in the match.
USC North was down by nine, 35-44, early in the fourth when they rallied behind the marksmanship of Jude Bulan, Clint Suelto and Kent Malazarte along with the playmaking of Mikhail Lorenzo Piad.
The Dragons tied the match for the last time at 61-all after a three by Shann Tan. But Adlawan saved the day as he picked the ball up from a looseball scramble and went coast to coast for the game-winning basket.
In the other semis encounter, the University of the Visayas booked the other finals ticket after thwarting the Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu Magis Eagles, 51-34.
Leonard Santillan led UV with 19 points as Ralph Dinolan added 12.
