Malabon city fire kills a 20-year-old woman

MANILA, Philippines — A 20-year-old woman was killed by a fire of still undetermined origin at a residential area in Malabon city on Wednesday, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Malabon City said.

According to the BFP-National Capital Region, the fire was located in Bonifacio St. in Barangay Tugatog.

The fire reached the first alarm around 7:06 a.m. and was raised to the second alarm a few minutes later at 7:16 a.m.

It was then under control at 7:57 a.m. before being declared extinguished as of 8:12 a.m.

The BFP Malabon told INQUIRER.net that there was one recorded death in the incident, an unidentified 20-year-old woman.

No other information has yet been made available regarding the fatality.

Meanwhile, no other injuries caused by the fire have been recorded.

The BFP said the cause of the fire is still being investigated.
